Getting into medical school is tougher than ever. We've all heard stories of qualified applicants who didn't get in anywhere.

Having a strong GPA and MCAT score, conducting research, shadowing physicians for 100s of hours, doing tons of extracurriculars, and getting great recommendation letters is unfortunately not enough.

There is so much misinformation about what it takes to get into medical school. Whereas some of what you read and hear is accurate, much of it isn't.

How do you decide?

Even worse, you may be stressing yourself out by comparing yourself to other premeds out of worry that you're missing something critical to getting in.

Despite feeling like every other med school applicant has accomplished at least as much as you have, we can help you stand out to get admissions committees' attention.

Our highly individualized, data-driven, and exclusive approach to admissions consulting will allow you tell an engaging story through all of your application materials about why you're uniquely fit to become a physician.

In fact, for nearly 20 years, over 90% of our students have gotten into AT LEAST one U.S. med school—the first time they apply!

Some of the med schools to which our students have been accepted:

Even more meaningful than this "Accepted To" list, is the excitement our students express when they finally break through the monstrous med school admissions process. Here are some examples of the messages we routinely receive from students:

"I got into Mayo. I don't know what to say right now, I am just STUNNED. Thank you guys for everything!
Will write more soon, after I process this ... "

How we support our students

Once our students complete the application process, we like to have a debriefing conversation with them to understand how we can support students better and better each year. The three points our students consistently mention about why they appreciated our support—beyond our students' 90+% success rate—are:

Reputation For Quality

Shemmassian Academic Consulting Reputation For Quality.png

When we say "unlimited" essay support, we mean it. We once edited a student's personal statement 14 times until it was strong enough. Now, most of our students' personal statements don't take that long to edit (most students need 4-5 rounds), but we want to emphasize that we'll do whatever it takes to help you get in.

Fast Turnaround Times

Shemmassian Academic Consulting Incredibly Fast Turnaround Times.png

We commit to our advertised 48-hour essay turnaround times. Whether you send your essay on Friday afternoon, before a major holiday, or anything else, we will be available to support you.

Total Support

Shemmassian Academic Consulting Technical And Emotional Support.png

In addition to our proactive advising with every aspect of your admissions process, we invite you to ask technical admissions-related questions or to reach out even if you just want to vent. The med school admissions process is intellectually and emotionally tough. We want you to get into your dream school, and also to feel optimistic, motivated, and supported throughout.

Medical school admissions testimonials

The biggest compliment to our work comes from our students. Here's what a few of them have said about our services:

"Compared to other consulting services I had read about and spoken to, Dr. Shemmassian was the most personable and individualistic in his feedback and approach.

When I had follow up questions via email, he responded promptly with voice messages that demonstrated his values and commitment to each student, even before they decided to join his services.

I was on the fence initially because I knew it was an investment - Dr. Shemmassian instilled quite a bit of confidence and I decided to take the leap."

UCSF MEDICAL STUDENT

"I was supported by Dr. Shemmassian and two academic consultants who gave me their personal phone numbers and email so I could contact them with ease. They were super responsive and really wanted me to showcase my best self in my application. There were times when I was overwhelmed and confused, and they took the time to talk with me on the phone and answer all my questions and give me advice. They really de-mystified the whole process and helped me feel confident every step of the way from submitting my primary application (with no MCAT at the time) all the way to my interviews. At the end, I was accepted to BOTH of my top-choice MD programs!! Even after my acceptances, they were still available to answer my questions and talk with me. I highly recommend this service because if you are applying, you want to ideally apply once and highlight your best self throughout the process so you can reach your full potential. They truly help you do that!!"
