DAT Tutoring Plans

Tutoring is done over video, where you can work with your advisor live and face-to-face, share screens, and draw on our virtual whiteboard to show your work in real time, which closely resembles the in-person experience. Your tutor would help you achieve your maximum DAT score, regardless of however you learn best.

In addition to live tutoring sessions, you would have full email access to your tutor to send questions any time, ask them to review practice problem sets, or anything else you might need. It's all customized to you and none of the time we spend developing custom lesson plans, answering your questions via email, studying your missed question logs, or providing accountability is counted towards your hourly tutoring allotment.

Absolutely! Based on the results of an initial DAT diagnostic exam, we would identify your strengths and weaknesses with test content and strategy to recommend potential test dates. We would also develop a custom study schedule to help you tackle your prep at the right pace without burning out or sacrificing key material.

Your advising team will be with you every step of the way, from the moment you sign up until you hear back from the last school on your list. You may send emails or request phone calls any time. You may also send essays any time, since we work nights, weekends, and holidays. We will do whatever it takes to help you get into med school.

Our DAT tutoring is based on four pillars: content review, strategy analysis, guided practice, and test review. You and your tutor will find the optimal balance of these four pillars to maximize your score.

Early on, you'll focus more on content review and lessons during your tutoring sessions. As your content mastery grows, you'll focus more on learning how to apply proven srategies during guided practice passages. Finally, you'll see the biggest jumps as your tutor reviews your practice exams, identifies patterns across questions you've missed, and helps you make key improvements so that you get those questions right in the future.

It depends on your test date, starting point, and score target. For instance, if you have a month before the exam or need help with just one section (e.g., PAT), then the Select Plan (10 hours of live tutoring) might work for you.

If you have 2-3 months and want a more comprehensive option to help you achieve your best score, the Superior (25 hours) or Superior+ (40 hours) would be good options. And if you have more time before the exam and want to ensure that no stones are left unturned, the Top Scorer (60 hours) or Top Scorer+ Plan (80 hours) would give you the greatest benefit.

After being paired with a tutor, you will be assigned a full-length practice exam to establish your baseline DAT score. After completing 20 hours of tutoring, your tutor will assign you two additional full-length practice exams (you may also choose to have an official DAT exam count toward one of the two additional full-length practice exams your tutor will assign). If you do not see a score increase on at least one of these two additional exams, your existing tutoring plan will be credited 5 additional hours at no additional charge.

We will work around your schedule at all times to ensure that you can devote sufficient attention to your academic and extracurricular work. And yes, we do schedule weekend tutoring sessions.

You will be paired with your tutor within 24 hours of signing up so that we can get started right away and work around your schedule as needed.
